A WALK AMONG TOMBESTONES title sequence

A walk amongst tombstones opening

The inter title sequence for this film comes into play as this man begins walking down some stairs to see the person he has just shot. On the first step we are shown the production company for the film which is 'Exclusive Media'.

The choice of font is a very simple type of font which doesn't present any link to the genre of the film which is unusual. The way in which each title appears and vanishes is at a very slow, calming and steady pace. This matches the manner in which the man is going down the stairs. The way each title comes and goes may also be a connotation to the pace of this film; I say this because, the non diegetic music is a slow burning gradual tension build type of tune. The shot of the man going down the stairs remains as it is and hasn't changed and all current indications from this opening inter title sequence point towards the type of film which keeps the viewer thinking picking up the crumbs the film leaves behind throughout the story.

After introducing us to all three companies responsible for. We're then shown the leading actors name 'Liam Neeson' and the title of the film. The title is introduced as Liam is at a mid shot level which presents the leading character and the film title together which heightens the significance of of this moment in the scene.

There's then a change in shot to an extreme close up on the face of a blonde haired women who appears to be being tortured. There are then multiple extreme close up shots as an in-depth picture is slowly un-veiled to show a the sexual harassment and torture of a lady who soon begins to cry. There's an all white and bright background which could deceive viewers into thinking they're watching a happy scene, until they look closer . Whilst all of this happens, there are inter titles of production crew member names which are presented in the previously mentioned, standard, entry and exit format (slow vanish in, slow vanish out), as well as the same font.

Questionnaire for film treatment

The reasoning behind why I'm doing a questionnaire and focus group for my film is because, before I fully commit to starting anything, I want to know where the concept for my film stands with my selected target audience. It will be useful to gain some critical and constructive feedback from them, as well as a general idea of what is good and what could use some improving. It will also be useful to know where I may need to expand on some ideas, as well as shorten or rethink others. Either way, feed back should prove really useful in making my film the best it can be.

1) Does this film appeal to you?
yes        No

2) What particular genre of films do you find most engaging?

3) What was your first impression after reading the treatment?

4) Would you pay to watch this film?

5) Do you feel drug genre'd films are overused?

6) What do you expect/ hope to see come out of this movie? i.e a lot of action, violence, emotion etc.

7) What aspect of the treatment made you most excited to watch the film?

8) Is there anything in particular that you weren't so keen on in the treatment?

Film Treatment (Visionaries and Mortal Men)

Convicted Mob boss, Tyson Gates, is released after five years of being in jail. Having been released; his empire of drug and weapon trafficking has slowly withered to nothing- leaving him with just his long time best friend/ brother Slim. In the cut throat world of the 'streets', honour amongst thieves is never expected, but if there is one rule that everybody know's; it's that you don't snitch and expect to keep your life. A small time player in the drug world, Collin Bills (AKA Trigger), found his way to running the streets with a ruthless reign after having baited Tyson which, in turn, lead to his conviction.

Within in the five years of Tyson's imprisonment, Collin is now a better version of what Tyson was in his prime. All of Tyson's crew either left him to join Collin, or were killed by Collin. Tyson's family were forced into hiding, with no money, and now the name of former mob boss Tyson Gates is nothing more than a myth within the streets of London. However all myths take shape from a source of truth- and Tyson is finally out of prison and here to show these mortal men and traitors just how quickly life can be stripped from them just as five years of his life as well as his empire was taken from him. Tyson's one man vendetta against the streets he once called home will erupt into a war fit only for one survivor and Tyson would sooner die than not see his enemy's fall, his vision come to light, and his family thriving once again.

The vision Tyson held becomes blurry when the loyalty of those he trusted most is called into question. Within a few minutes of life out of prison, Tyson's instincts save his life when he foils a ploy to end him before he's even spent an hour beyond prison walls. With Collin's actions holding clear intent to kill Tyson, the notion of kill or be killed becomes inevitable as trusting anyone is nothing more than a liability.

Expect blood shed, gun shots, violence and heart ache as we plunge into the most ruthless regions of society and embark on a full blown battle in the concrete jungle of London for the title of 'King'. The un-raveling plot will reveal there was more to Tyson's imprisonment than just Collin snitching; and the question will come into play of 'is having money, power, respect and an empire really worth it if you are alone at the end of it?'  Follow the resurrection of Tyson Gates; as he carries hell up with him and dumps it on the streets of London in hopes to never be forgotten again. This is the story of Visionaries and Mortal Men.
